2 Konzerte: Y-OTIS (SE/DE/UK) + Nothing Causes Anything (AT)
Y-OTIS
Otis Sandsjö – the visionary saxophonist and driving force behind Y-OTIS – crafts a unique, genre-defying sound that he calls “liquid jazz.” Originally from Sweden and now based in Berlin, Otis merges jazz with elements of hip-hop, electronica, and experimental groove to create rich, immersive soundscapes.
Following his acclaimed self-titled debut in 2018, he released Y-OTIS 2 and Y-OTIS TRE via the renowned Helsinki-based label We Jazz Records, with production by Koma Saxo’s Petter Eldh. Otis’s music has been described as an “audio mosaic,” blending hypnotic saxophone lines, fragmented rhythms, and funk-infused beats into a fluid, forward-looking sonic experience.

Nothing Causes Anything

Experimental Noise Jazz — bound by free improvisation, full of twists, collisions, and unexpected harmony. Despite their different musical roots, they share attentiveness, improvisational sensitivity & the courage to embrace chaos — always reshaping into something new.

About
DE/SEMBLE is a Vienna-based festival dedicated to expanding and redefining jazz and adventurous music. Renowned for its diverse lineup, the festival brings together both internationally established artists and emerging voices. Its mission is to break away from traditional connotations of jazz, cultivating an inclusive and forward-looking musical landscape.
Launched in 2022 as “de/semble — don’t play me”, a project spotlighting women instrumentalists in jazz, DE/SEMBLE has since grown into a festival that continues to place fair representation and artistic diversity at its core.
