Topic Panel discussion:
This panel discussion will focus on the creation of club spaces and their relationship to musical and cultural expression. The conversation will explore varying approaches to club practices, focusing on different musical and political contexts and how these interconnect. We will examine how artists incorporate decolonial perspectives into their work, whether through the shaping of physical environments or through the selection of musical styles that reflect diverse cultural identities. The event highlights the work of artists engaged with music from the global majority, emphasizing their role in fostering intercultural exchange and challenging western-centric narratives. This discussion aims to provide insights into how artistic and musical practices can contribute to more meaningful, inclusive and critically engaged cultural spaces.
description live jam/concert:
Decks & Dialogues will be presenting a loosely structured jam session rooted in improvisation. the jam will include two DJs, three musicians and one singer. The idea is to emulate a live studio session where we will be jamming together and bouncing ideas off each other.
Food by Malik & Angie:
Malik and Angie are two independent chefs based in Vienna, known for their thoughtful, ingredient-driven approach to food. Their cooking centers around regional, seasonal, foraged and fermented ingredients, crafted into internationally inspired vegetarian and vegan dishes. Malik also weaves elements of his cultural heritage into the kitchen. For both chefs, this style of cooking is a quiet act of resistance against today’s dominant, extractive food systems.
